Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs)

An IME, simply stated, is a second opinion examination. A medical expert renders an informed and objective opinion based on the complete physical examination of the individual and detailed personal history taken at the examination as well as reviewing all medical records and diagnostics provided. The medical expert details their findings and expert opinions in a thorough narrative report, which is submitted to the requesting party.

IMEs assist with many issues including diagnosis, pre-existing conditions, the need for treatment including the need for surgery, end of healing and causation. IMEs we schedule include but are not limited to the following:

  • Worker’s Compensation IME
  • Personal Injury/Liability IME
  • Return to Work Examinations
  • Fitness for Duty Examinations
  • Permanent Partial Disability Examinations
  • Functional Capacity Examination

Medical Record Reviews

Medical Record Reviews are comprehensive, evidence based reviews performed by a medical expert. The medical expert will provide an objective opinion based on the review of medical records, diagnostics, CDs/Videos and any other materials provided that are pertinent to the case. Once the review is complete, the medical expert details their findings and expert opinions in a thorough narrative report, which is submitted to the requesting party. Medical Record Reviews include but are not limited to the following:

  • Worker’s Compensation Medical Record Review
  • Personal Injury Medical Record Review
  • Pharmaceutical Review
